If you’ve decided to shed off some pounds then you’ve probably created some sort of exercise plan. Is working out a thing you’re not used to doing? Often it can appear a bit too much and even a little bit dreadful… not to worry, there’s a quick way to get back into exercising again: walking! You should definitely incorporate walking to any exercise program you do.
You can include walking into your schedule in many ways. You may want to take your dog for a 10-minute stroll around the neighborhood. Your walks may only be ten minutes at a time, but after 7 days that equates to at least 70 minutes, which is quite a lot of walking. If you and your dog walk twice a day then that number doubles. Try walking to your office if you live pretty close to it. Naturally, if your workplace is two hours away, you may not want to try walking that far–unless you’re preparing for a marathon! Walking 30 minutes to work is not inconceivable and, by the time you walk to and from work, you will have walked at least an hour a day. If you ride the bus to work, consider walking to the next bus stop and incorporate some exercise to your day. Walking isn’t difficult to add to your routine.
Walking is wonderful for your whole health. As it’s a form of cardiovascular workout, you’ll burn calories while also melting off the fat and bettering your heart. Walking is a good deal easier on your joints than running. I asked my brother who loves to eat junk food about how he he stays slim. Although he says he has no idea, I think the fact that he walks every day may be the reason. It all made sense when he mentioned that. Walking is not difficult to do there’s no good reason you you shouldn’t try it.
Try and get into a routine of walking everyday since you’ll have a better chance of sticking to it, and with the right diet, you’ll be able to lose weight with no problem. If you walk, you’ll also feel more fit and you won’t be discouraged by it because it’s not strenuous at all, which will make you feel more inspired. As you walk more often and find changes, you’ll want to do more or step up the intensity of your walks. There’s no reason not to try it if you feel comfortable with that. Walk a little faster than you normally do and maybe jog for a few steps along the way if you feel up to it. The next you need to do is to add even heavier workouts.
It’s hard to come up with excuses for not taking walks for short distances every day. Irrespective of how busy you are, you should be able to make time for a short walk in your neighborhood or visit your gym for a short session on the treadmill.
